Paper Abstract:      In the Spring of 2003 this 4-month research was conducted by the author while on assignment as Research Analyst for the University of California Davis (UCD) School of Education’s Digital California Project (DCP). It was done to assist the Project Management Team find solutions to their Virtual Events videoconferencing-related activities. The research study used a purely web-based approach using fact sheets, whitepapers and case study reports found on the product website. Used primarily by the Physics Group for access grid (Wei, 2001; Olson, 2001) computation at the California Institute of Technology Pasadena California, the Virtual Rooms Videoconferencing Solution (VRVS) tested at UCD School of Education with remote assistance from the Technical Support Staff from CalTech proved the most practicable, cost-efficient and least cumbersome of all videoconferencing VC solutions given the funding and implementation constraints.
