In the last few decades, the availability of a growing body of information, the acceleration of technological progress and
the subsequent reduction in technology renewal time, difficulty in achieving a return on the investment in research and
development.
The ideal sequence R&D&I node (research + development + innovation) is summarized by 'research to patent to market'
and the records available of this sequence are: scientific articles from scientific research, the development patent and the
innovative product on the market. The involvement of the strategic management of information has become more
intensive, although at the same time its execution procedures have become more complex. There is a need to implement
systematic procedures for technology watch, transfer and prospective in organizations.
This article will address, by way of introduction, current ideas in the concept of technology watch, the functions and
analytical methods and techniques used. |
