Paper Abstract:      The striving for congruency across face-to-face and online learning environments is challenged by many complexities. The challenges in the development of coherent programs of postgraduate learning involving courses delivered by different modes are discussed, with a focus on how to achieve congruency when delivering a postgraduate course across face-to-face, online and intensive learning environments. While information technology has great potential to facilitate/enhance the delivery of learning outcomes, the online environment is not without challenges when congruency across delivery modes is required. Strong similarity in assignment results has been achieved across modes, but learner participation in the online version has dropped. To the extent that a good learner is an engaged learner, decreased student engagement is not a defensible position.
