Paper Abstract:
|
In the last ten years, social networks have increasingly penetrated everyday activities such as business, study, entertainment and games. Its importance as a tool for exchanging information and opinion, fueling interpersonal relations, study and business is acknowledged today and considerable research is devoted to further improving user experience. However, publishing private and sensitive data can generate problems related to security, privacy, identity and reputation. This is especially critical for teens, who as digital natives have a different perception of privacy compared to previous generations and can become vulnerable to various dangers. This paper discusses legal issues related to the use of social networks, focusing on privacy, identity, and reputation, offering an overview on current legislation in Europe and discussing open issues. |
