Paper Abstract:
|
Web-based technologies are currently able to improve quality of services provided by information systems. System architects can benefit from easier management of end-user applications and wider data access. However, building information infrastructure strictly on web browsers may bring additional problems. One of these complications, which occur mainly inside large-scale information systems with strictly online transaction processing is overloading. This paper introduces one possible solution to overloading prevention, which is based on dynamic system adaptation to actual user behavior. Overall system architecture and several possible methods for automatic request classification will be presented. A practical example of this approach will be illustrated on the Masaryk University Information System, which is an awarded university environment for complex on-line classroom and e-learning management. |
