Paper Abstract:      The »Digital To Analog Gaming Board« (DiTAG) is an interactive board game interface bridging the gap between the digital and the analogue game world. The project develops technologies and design-methods to create digital-analog board games. Therefore the iterative design-process is well documented and reflected in different papers. The study is focused on the dynamics, mechanics and aesthetics arising from the interplay of analogue and digital interface-elements. It describes different problems and possibilities encountered in the design-process and while playing. The developed prototype provides a base to develop and analyze new forms of interaction and gaming in the border area between the digital and the analog. A first game was created to explore the problems and possibilities of playing and designing games for both realms. As of today, the further development is focused on the advancement of the monolithic RFID-based prototype to a modular interface that can be as easily assembled as a construction kit for kids.
