Paper Abstract:
|
Mobile learning can be conceptualised as learning that occurs as a result of pursuing learning activities in and across
multiple contexts (Wali et al., 2008). Researching mobile learning based on this conceptualisation requires studying
learners activities that take place across multiple contexts (formal and informal). However, in our studies, collecting data
that reflects on students activities in these contexts was difficult. This paper discusses some methodological
considerations for researching mobile learning focusing on (a) the ability to study learners activities that aim at
achieving an objective and take place in and across different contexts, (b) providing information about the context of
learning activities and (c) ensuring the accuracy and validity of learners self reports. |
