Paper Abstract:
|
In our recent work we present a toolset enabling online marking student work, especially suited for distance learning groups. The marking tool allows for correcting and annotating texts and graphics. It can be used with all major browsers and is an add-on to our XML-centric Web Content Management System. While our previous version only allowed lecturers and students to make annotations and set correction marks to different kinds of existing web pages, the latest release also enables the marking of graphical elements. Compared to existing electronic marking environments, feedbacks can be made more easily by using our toolset and learning becomes more efficient by timely and more frequently annotations and online discussions. Since its introduction in Spring 2006 this toolset has been accepted by the students as shown by a comparison between the distance learning classes 2005 and 2006. |
