Paper Abstract:      The improvements, accessibility and influence of bi-dimensional 2D and three-dimensional 3D information and communication technologies and devices on citizens’ life, for instance, Web-based resources, game like and other emerging technologies have stimulated their use on the education field. We have used such technologies in learning and teaching actions, as a way of engaging and influencing individuals’ cognitive and technical skills enhancements within the context of k-12 education, attempting to respect individuals’ learning style diversity (personalized learning) and developing a digital and visual literacy culture at school and surrounding community. The learning/teaching actions have brought about decreasing the digital divide through increasing individuals’ communication, stimulating collaborative knowledge-based interactions and supporting ones’ digital literacy technical skills and competences. On this paper we describe how we have achieved these qualitative results with support of the combination between the current cultural media influence and learning concepts such as constructivism, constructionism, experiential and active learning.
