Paper Abstract:
|
Educational Modelling Languages (EMLs) constitute a valuable tool for learning process designers, as they provide them
with a complete set of elements to fully describe learning processes. These descriptions can then be put into practice
using EML conforming systems which will configure execution environments according to the specified learning process
requirements. IMS Learning Design stands out amongst the different EML proposals over recent years due the flexibility
it provides for implementing different pedagogical approaches. However, this flexibility entails a complexity of use
which may be inconvenient for its adoption by the average teacher, trainer or instructional designer. This paper presents
LDCake, an IMS Learning Design diagram-based editor which makes use of a Domain Specific Visual Language in order
to provide end-users with a simplified abstraction of the elements of the specification. The objective is to put at their
disposal an easy to use tool for the quickly production of Unit of Learnings. |
