Paper Abstract:      By analyzing a sample of hypertexts on the Web which were developed by European schools (from primary to high schools), it has been found that most of them are the result of a simple technical exercise, thus dramatically reducing the educational potential of the hypertext paradigm. This fact shows that most of the teachers are trained in the technical aspects of hypertext more than in the pedagogical and methodological ones, thus limiting the raising of awareness of the effective potential of hypertexts. To make things worse, training based on technical issues risk reducing the involvement of teachers who are skeptical about technologies in general. In this paper some specific strategies adopted in order to train both new and experienced teachers are reported.
