Paper Abstract:
|
The integration of social robots into educational settings marks a significant paradigm shift in the application of technology
to facilitate learning and education. Social robots, characterised by their ability to interact, engage, and communicate with
humans, offer unprecedented opportunities for enhancing collaborative learning experiences. This paper explores the
potential of social robots to address key questions, including: Will robotic solutions be useful and accepted by humans for
educational applications? How can social robots be designed to enhance collaborative learning experiences? What
guidelines should be devised to ensure human-centred AI development? By examining these questions, we present two
case studies that seek to investigate and contribute towards the development of Human-Centred AI Design guidelines that
prioritise the diverse needs of humans and enhance Human Robot Interactions (HRI). |
