Paper Abstract:
|
The nature of and relationships between all constituent parts of Human-Computer Interaction continue to change. Human users are increasingly participatory in their approach to the design of products and to the generation of content. These users interact more frequently online via computer, and are using these connected computers to more frequently connect with other users. Computer systems too are increasingly interconnected and interdependent. In this paper, I will call for increased work toward the development of a useful set of tools and theories for the SuperDesigner a new type of HCI practitioner, who is faced with the need to analytically and generatively describe, predict, foster and control the emergent behaviors of large networks of actors. Finally, this paper will suggest some other fields of inquiry with which HCI and HCI/d can collaborate in order to start to develop these capabilities. |
