Paper Abstract:      This paper presents an empirical, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)-based case study on the identification of factors contributing to collaborative knowledge creation- and knowledge transfer processes in forum-based Online Knowledge Communities (OKCs), having recently been finalized at International University Bremen (IUB). Following an outline of the context and the theoretical background of the study, together with both an outline of factors expected to contribute to collaborative knowledge processes in forum-based OKCs and an outline of individual hypotheses, the paper expands on the methodology of the study. First, the validation of constructs through unidimensionality- and construct validity analyses is being presented, followed by the validation of the measurement model. Finally, Structural Equation Modeling is being applied. The paper summarizes with the presentation of the results of the SEM analysis, a discussion of path values, an outline of limitations of the study, and suggestions for future research.
