Paper Abstract:      This paper falls within the scope of e-Learning technology. Its main objective is to present how to achieve the integration - within an existing authoring tool - of collaborative tools available in most e-learning platforms. As motivation, the paper also presents a comparative analysis between authoring tools features and Learning Management Systems key collaborative functionalities. The introduction of collaborative scenarios in authoring tools has three key goals. Enhance interactivity and collaboration between the students and the tutor. Promote the sharing of information. Foster the creation of a useful collective pool of knowledge. Finally, in order to put in context, with the scope of current technology, the above mentioned objectives a limited comparative analysis between 5 authoring tools and 6 LMS is presented.
