Paper Abstract:
|
UK institutions are composed of a blend of legacy and learning systems mostly based on client-server architectures, and
within this infrastructure there are incompatibilities and duplication of functionalities and components. As a result there
are limitations in scalability and interoperability of the systems within and across institutions. With a focus on scalability
and interoperability, we are working to design a middleware based on hierarchical event-based paradigm and service
oriented architectures (SOA) using web2 and web services technologies, with the aim to create novel technologies and
open standards. |
