Paper Abstract:
|
To amplify player's immersion in a non-linear narrative, we present a non-stop user-behavioral and psychological classification system. This proposal is immersed in the context of Visual-Novel like games, where data collected during the gameplay is used to interfere in the narrative and to select an appropriate ending based on the analysis of all collected user behaviors. To this end, our system uses the concept of the five major domains of personality from Goldberg (1999), and merges the psychological assessment test International Personality Item Pool with the game engine. This interference in the gameplay leads to a discussion towards user immersion. We contrast the one-step process of character creation against the idea of a continuous analysis of user behavior, creating a psychological profile of the player reflected on the character through the game's narrative. |
