Paper Abstract:
|
In the field of learning and instruction, feedback is considered an elementary component for supporting and regulating
learning processes. Especially in computer-based and self-regulated learning environments, the nature of feedback is of
fundamental importance. In this article, we will investigate different types of model-based feedback generated
automatically with our own HIMATT (Highly Integrated Model Assessment Technology and Tools) methodology.
Seventy-four students participated in our pre-post design study, in which they had to write two texts and create two
concept maps on their understanding of climate change. During the pre- and posttest we provided the participants three
forms of model-based feedback. Our results indicate differences in the types of externalization (written text and concept
maps) and various effects of our automatically created model-based feedback. |
