Paper Abstract:
|
The goal of this article is to propose a new approach to students modeling, based on Ontological Engineering, and
resulting into a more granular and complete knowledge representation. A new student's modeling taxonomy has been
built after a rigorous analysis of all the types of knowledge that can be represented about the student. This representation
enables the adaptation of the students model to different types of Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS), facilitating the
construction of truly adaptive ITS. It is also the basis for a powerful cognitive diagnosis method, with non-monotonic
reasoning capacities. This paper is focused, mainly, on a specialization of the SM ontology for its application to 3D
Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) and, in special, to procedural training. |
