Paper Abstract:
|
Group buying mechanisms allow customers with a limited order to size to aggregate their demand and enjoy the benefits
of a wholesale deal. Buying groups are usually managed by a group manager who handles tasks such as admitting new
members to the group and negotiating with the suppliers. The manager is also responsible for choosing a group buying
policy, which specifies when a group purchase must be made and which group members should take part in that
purchase. In order to measure the performance of various group buying policies, an experimental environment is defined
based on some probability models.
In this paper we investigate available experimental environments for group buying and devise an improved environment
that addresses some of the problems identified with the existing environments. |
