Paper Abstract:
|
The introduction of technologies has undoubtedly revolutionized the learning environment, the content delivery and the setting in which teaching occurs. Putting a strong emphasis on students working on their own and the usage of ICT as a tool to support the teachers instruction, this ubiquitous learning system may embody two important features as well: the interaction which allows students to communicate each other and the individualization which lets them work at their own pace. In the last years, European policies are focused on the creation of a strong infrastructure to overcome the barriers non-native speakers encounter during their learning process. This paper describes ISPY, a multilateral European K2 language project based on the development of an Online Networking Platform for Language Learning (http://www.ispy-project.com/), aimed at helping young adults, secondary and vocational school programs across Europe, learn a new language and gain insights into the cultural knowledge implicit to those languages. |
