Paper Abstract:
|
This paper describes the development and evaluation of a curriculum designed to help teachers learn about and integrate digital library functionalities and learning objects into their teaching practice. The approach to the development of the curriculum was iterative and user-centered, in which each cycle of curriculum development and implementation was followed by evaluation. It also employed a participatory evaluation strategy, which enabled participants to contribute to curriculum development and evaluation goals and instruments. Preliminary findings from several cycles of implementation are presented, addressing 1) the impact of the curriculum on participants in terms of their knowledge and attitudes, 2) feedback from participants about how the curriculum could be improved, 3) feedback from participants about how the target technologies could be improved, and 4) feedback from participants about how the evaluation instruments could be improved. |
