Paper Abstract:
|
We developed and have been improving our remote surveillance system, which is organized with network cameras, an integrated Web/mail server, Web-based clients and remote control devices. Some kinds of devices can be used as our clients, for example, high-performance cellular phone, which are equipped with Java virtual machine and Web-browser. Users of our surveillance system can utilize remote monitoring and controlling anywhere and anytime. They can specify views at the specific time, retrieve them from database of monitored images, obtain the according images from the integrated server and look at them on the display of mobile devices. Brief evaluation about our surveillance system is mentioned in the second part of this paper. And then applications of our system are reported such as remote monitoring service of school for distant parents. With our surveillance system, such an application will be useful and fruitful. |
