Paper Abstract:      In this paper, a novel approach for fast and reliable file transfer in Grid computing environments is presented. The approach is based on peer-to-peer technology and allows a participant to push or pull files from one or more other participants. A file is split into smaller pieces, which is useful for transferring the same file to several locations and for receiving a file from different locations. The developed solution can be used as a library within application software, or standalone via a Grid or Web Service interface or a console client. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposal performs better than a pyramid copy approach.
