Paper Abstract:
|
In a nomadic environment a user can access the fixed network services, such as web, from virtually anywhere and at any time, and typically using a slow wireless network. Software agent technology on the other hand is a relatively new paradigm for designing and implementing complex distributed systems, which a nomadic environment is by its nature. During the last years the software agent technology as the design and implementation methodology for applications for the nomadic environments has raised interest among agent researchers. In this paper we describe how software agent technology can be used in enhancing nomadic user's web browsing in slow wireless wide-area networks. We have implemented a multi-agent system, which adapts the web content based on both mobile device capabilities and network quality of service. |
