Paper Abstract:
|
Network analysis was applied to the eye-tracking data obtained from 20 subjects who read 10 frontal web pages that were
classified into three layout types. The networks represented the transition of fixations among segments of 5x5 grid
imposed on the screen of the pages. The core and peripheral nodes identified by multiple centrality indices nodes fairly
well corresponded to the inner and peripheral locations of the segments. The clique-based communities revealed
interesting patterns that run counter to "banner-blindness" and that indicated the effects of layout types. Incorporation of
pattern mining into network analysis will help advance the present approach. |
