Paper Abstract:
|
Thanks to the rapid progress and popularization of the ICT, which includes not only the Internet but also the smart
phones, our information environment becomes ubiquitous and our society becomes e-society. Such an extreme change
causes the changes of necessary services of libraries as well. In this paper we discuss the importance of "educationality"
of library as a social organization that supports its patrons with finding information, acquiring knowledge, solving
problems, learning, and other activities. Further we propose some possible educational services that libraries can and
should provide. Libraries will be able to keep playing its important social role toward the future by providing such
services and they will keep being the "growing organism" as was expected in the five laws of library science. |
