Paper Abstract:
|
If privacy has been currently challenged by the pervasiveness, the convergence and the new potentialities of information technology (IT) such as on-line social network and ambient intelligence space, an ethical conception of privacy is still possible and should influence the future developments and implementations of IT. In this paper, models and EU provisions of privacy are discussed. It is shown that an alignment of the legal and technological conversations is desirable. We argue that we need to seek for the current meanings of the ethics that surround both the development and the appropriation by society of these technologies. |
