Paper Abstract:	Many studies concentrate on developing attractive Web applications, but very few discuss the fundamental problems of modeling, integration and retrieval of Web data from heterogeneous data sources based on its content and semantics. The main focus of this paper is the development of the XHMG system architecture for content-based modeling, integration and retrieval of heterogeneous multimedia Web data. The paper also shows the basic XHMG structural instruments for Web page content representation. The paper describes the approach for exchanging the XHMG Web page schemas as XML DTD schemas. This is done for the purpose of interchanging in XML format the content and structure of content-based annotated Web documents (pages, data) after their contents have been extracted from appropriate data sources, integrated, and annotated by the respective modules of the XHMG system. The most important applications of this approach is handling and integrating the unstructured, semistructured, and structured hypermedia information in the Web based on the content and meaning of that information. The research in this paper will have a potentially large impact on the technologies used in information sources for e-commerce, e-business, e-government, e-learning.
