Paper Abstract:	In this paper we present approaches for visualizing uncertainty in an application context for urban management. We describe techniques for the visualization of uncertainty and methods for the reduction of the complexity of the visualization to avoid cognitive overload. Uncertainty in both natural and man-made structures in the underground is thus communicated to the user in an appropriate, non-threatening manner. The methods were evaluated during an end-user workshop. The results of this workshop have led to various extensions to the current approach to the visualization of uncertainty in urban management.
