Paper Abstract:
|
Opportunities to make discussion among students as a part of proactive and cooperative learning activities
(e.g., problem-based learning) have increased in educational institutions such as universities. It is important to share
information and values related to the topic among the discussion participants. However, learners have different styles of
utterance and ways of grasping facts since those factors depend on their experiences. Therefore, learners often reach
conclusions without sufficient discussion from various angles. This problem prevents inexperienced people from
speaking in a discussion. This leads to a spiral in which inexperienced people's inability to speak enough in actual
discussions makes it difficult for them to gain sufficient experience of discussions. In this research, we developed a
system that visually presents topics of discussions and conversations about them that novices should examine on Twitter.
This system enables inexperienced people to explore the discussions they refer by themselves and get in touch with
diversified opinions. |
