Paper Abstract:
|
According to Directive 2003/59/EC adopted by the European Parliament and the council professional drivers have to pass obligatory initial and periodic training. A detailed survey of professional drivers in fright transport has been done. Drivers have skills and willingness to use ICT and innovative learning technologies are established. However, trainers in transport are specialists in a specific technological field. Usually the trainers have good ICT skills, but they suffer from a lack of pedagogical knowledge and skills for e-learning management. The aim of this paper is to present a virtual learning environment (VLE) for innovative training of transport trainers and a methodology for preliminary study of its effectiveness. Virtual learning environment for creation and management of training content in transport via Internet is presented in the paper. The training content consists of two parts comprising knowledge and skills necessary for implementation of e-learning. It is based on modules «Becoming e-Tutor» presenting pedagogical requirements for e-learning module and on module Apply theory to practice- How an e-Tutor works. Evaluation of the virtual learning environmental is organized by independent trainers in transport. It includes activities as: Study of motivation of trainer; Evaluation of e-Tutor course and Validation of entire course. All evaluation activities are based on questionnaires. In the beginning of process of evaluation it is essential the participants to have positive expectation and motivation regarding the training in order to ensure their active involvement. The evaluation of modules is after their study. The level of satisfaction, format and design, technical content, opportunities for promotion of trainers etc. is investigated. Practical study of evaluation and recommendations for better effectiveness are given. |
