Paper Abstract:      Nowadays organizations not only are increasing the data volume, but also they have to work with a large variety of data sources with different types of data. One of the main challenges for these and others environments will be how to work and integrate this heterogeneous information from different types of databases. It would be necessary to use some kind of systems like wrappers or mediators in order to get a common format for the information. In this paper we propose a new system to solve this problem, which uses XML as common format, called XDS. XDS will allow querying, and if it is necessary at the same time even, different data sources like relational or XML databases, using special extensible languages XML based, and translating the results to XML too.
