Paper Abstract:
|
Unless the value of multimedia in assessment has been stated by several researchers, the impact of multimedia in combination with the usage of Web 2.0 services in formative assessment has not been investigated yet. An interesting characteristic is that digital natives not only consume information for learning purposes but they also author (learning) content that is shared with peers. This paper discusses the value of user-generated test items and the usage of multimedia in technology-based assessment as well as implications respectively risks when multimedia is used in assessment. Judging information quality is considered as an essential issue when students reuse information to create test items. The paper concludes with a list of open research questions. |
