Paper Abstract:      The research aims to develop an image based walkthrough system allows users to navigate the scene of interest under a wireless environment using mobile devices. It is developed based on Server/Client architecture. The generator stitches a series of overlapping photographs into a panorama of a scene after scene photographs are provided. On-demand transmission is developed for segmenting the panorama into smaller segments of a suitable size. The parts of interest are sent to client and rendered in real-time on user interface while a user browses the panorama. Hence, the data size is decreased at an average of 53.2% per transmission. It provides users a walkthrough environment with flexible and dynamic routes, which differs from Google Street View. Most current GPS navigation systems do not provide sufficient scene information. Hence, the proposed system can be applied and ported on such systems to display real world’s scene
