Paper Abstract:      Selecting the best databases for data integration is a well-known challenge task in either web or data warehousing. This problem is especially important in Information Systems related to the bioinformatics domain, where the so-called "genomic data chaos" impose severe quality issues in the corresponding data management process. In general, quality aspects are either not considered or the source selection process requires explicit user ratings. The objectives of the present work are to evaluate the overall quality of genomic databases available on the Web by taking into account database metadata and Web metrics. An evaluation study using real databases is provided with promising preliminary results.
