Paper Abstract:
|
This paper presents an empirical investigation of user reasons to adopt wireless text messaging on cell phones as a support tool in smoking cessation initiatives. A theoretical model combining factors favourable to adoption with factors against adoption and contrasting perceived risk of using the application to perceived risk of not using it was developed and tested with a sample of smokers and cell phone users in Canada. Results show that motivation and perceived risk of not using favour and perceived risk of using opposes adoption. |
