Paper Abstract:
|
People are surrounded everyday by new technological inventions and by new services connected to them. This work in
progress suggests a theoretical framework that proposes how to study people's interest in adopting new wireless
technologies in the near future. By this framework, current topics such as privacy, life quality, social interaction, are
further highlighted. Invention, innovation and adoption issues were analyzed in a project, the Wireless People Research
project, which involved four countries of the Mediterranean area and the United States. In order to analyze the future
consumption of contents and services, some scenarios of use of wireless technologies were defined and used in a
combined survey. At the moment, preliminary findings are available. Further steps in data analysis are described and
research developments identified. |
