Paper Abstract:
|
Advanced Switching (AS) defines a switching fabric architecture based on the PCI Express technology. The specification of this architecture establishes a credit-based flow control scheme. In order to prevent that the sender port overflows the buffers at the receiver one, credit information must be periodically updated. We are interested in determining the optimal flow control updating rate, identifying those network parameters that may affect it. In this paper, we show how this study can be performed through a simple example. In the future, we plan to carry out a more rigorous analysis. |
