Paper Abstract:      In collaborative projects companies seek to form alliances with partners who they deem trustworthy and competent in completing their part of a job. The main problem in identifying suitable partners arises when companies have not collaborated with potential partners before, and therefore it is not possible to judge their trustworthiness and expertise. Online reputation systems play a big role in this case in facilitating the building up of a company’s picture with regards to the quality of services it offers, and the company’s trustworthiness. The purpose of this short paper is to present the research in progress from a European co-funded project that tries to develop an e-collaboration platform to facilitate interactions amongst Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in European value chains in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) industry. Potential collaboration partners in this case are identified according to the reputation of each partner, the establishment of which is presented in this paper.
