We explore the use of patterns as an effective means to deal with recurrent performance issues in software development.
The benefit of this use is that one can make argued design choices that have satisfactory performance properties. We give
a definition of a performance pattern, in particular for database performance patterns, and study the structure of such a
pattern in detail, We give an illustrative example of a database performance pattern. |
