Paper Abstract:
|
MuniSocket (Multiple-Network-Interface Socket) provides mechanisms to enhance communication performance
properties such as throughput, transfer time, and reliability by utilizing existing multiple network interface cards between
a pair of computers. Although the MuniSocket model has some communication performance advantages over the regular
socket, it has a number of usability drawbacks including the complexity of connection establishment, configuration for
good communication performance, and configuration for communication fault tolerance. This paper discusses some
enhancements for MuniSocket using autonomic communication techniques. These techniques are self-configuration, selfoptimization,
and self-healing. While these techniques enhance communication performance among computers, they also
reduce the complexity of configuring MuniSockets. |
