Paper Abstract:
|
Healthcare technologies serve varying purposes for different users such as patients and doctors. Patients faced with problems accessing healthcare institutions may readily accept mHealth technology as a strategy for resolving their access limitations. In addition, patients faced with strict cultural limitations would also have a higher use for mHealth technology and therefore have good reasons to accept it. However, poor, uneducated, and elderly members of the society have poor perceptions of mHealth technology as compared to the wealthy, educated, and younger populations who have been exposed to the technology. Additionally, practitioners do not believe the current mHealth apps are secure enough to maintain a reliable confidentiality level with patients. Patients on the on the other hand are skeptical about the security of their personal information shared through the mHealth application. |
