Paper Abstract:
|
This paper summarizes the relevant literature on resource and competence development in the context of servitization as a
business model innovation, considering all relevant research streams. In addition, the current trend toward network
formation in the service business is highlighted in detail. For this purpose, the authors conducted a systematic literature
review. The goal was to create an interdisciplinary analysis that synthesizes a broad spectrum of publications from the
general field of management and organization studies (MOS). The result is a thorough synopsis of resources and capabilities
from the perspective of business network theory and dynamic capabilities. The application of this approach identifies
knowledge gaps in the literature and supports the identification of critical priorities for future research. This promotes the
development of business theory and a more in-depth understanding of servitization business practices. The utilization of an
interdisciplinary approach underscores the relevance of a relational multi-actor perspective. As a result, it can be deduced
that it is even more imperative to identify the various actors within the servitization network to adequately capture their
interactions. |
