Paper Abstract:      Web-based collaborative platforms (WCPs) appear to show significant potential for improving teaching and learning productivity and flexibility at Third Level. They have already shown potential within Business and Industry. WCPs may have a dramatic impact on eSociety in the future. Based on the use of a number of web-based collaborative platforms in a number of different situations, the real practical requirements and difficulties are described together with useful guidelines.
