Paper Abstract:      Using e-learning technologies to supplement traditional face-to-face method of teaching and learning is now common place in many universities. Likewise, some e-learning programmes incorporate some face-to-face interaction. These approaches are often referred to as ‘blended learning’. This paper presents and discusses the case of a bimodal blended learning programme where students are given full and equal access to both modes of teaching and learning on the same course. The tensions and delights emanating from this bimodal approach are highlighted and discussed including the implications for blended learning programme planning and delivery.
