Paper Abstract:
|
The relevance of this study is related to the emergence of new paradigms in the provision of care, namely the urgent need of collaborative work between the health and care services. In Portugal, there is a structural and cultural division between the health and social system, which leads to inevitable omissions and redundancies, namely in what patient data is concerned. The urgency of integration puts technology in the centre, which assumes a supporting role in the care information management. A critical issue in this analysis is the technology introduction in institutions that provide care, especially those that work in the social sphere, which appear to be in an early stage in this matter. This study was carried out in the District of Aveiro, in Portugal. |
