Paper Abstract:      The high costs associated with Executive Information Systems (EIS) can only be justified if there are benefits to the enterprise. Many authors in the past years have studied the impacts of Information Systems (IS), coming to the conclusion that, despite the difficulty of evaluating and justifying the benefits of IS, it is necessary to prove that their use is advantageous to the enterprise. So we must measure because even the odds to measure it's always better then do nothing. We present an approach for analysis and evaluation of information concerning the positive impacts that were revealed when an EIS was introduced in an insurance company in Portugal. We discuss the tangible improvements that were recorded in this case study in terms of productivity and quality, and synthesize the results.
