Paper Abstract:
|
This paper presents an application of a cognitive psychology model of memory to opinion judgment. This model of
episodic and semantic memory tries to catch the typical character of different subcategories of an opinion, it has been
applied in the context of the text-mining contest DEFT09. A mathematical model of human episodic memory serves as
basement to propose an algorithm of text categorization with semantic space models.
Results confirm that the episodic memory metaphor provides a convenient framework to propose efficient algorithm for
text categorization using Word Vectors model, and that take into account the typicality of the episodes enhance the
performance of the derived categorization algorithm. |
