Paper Abstract:      Advances in technology allow companies to implement new initiatives to improve their response to customers. However, those technological changes are also producing in-depth changes in the relationships between the companies constituting the supply chain and the distribution channels and are reflected in modifications to the structure of relationships and alliances between companies. Electronic distribution channels and e-SCM’s will have to consider those new circumstances in order to develop their leadership and to define the most suitable organizational structure in the production and distribution networks. The objective of this work is to shed some light on the possible organizational structures in the logistics and distribution processes, based on the resource and capability theory and the relational view. To that end, there is an in-depth examination of the new organizational structures, which are analyzed from the perspective of the processes and activities performed with the aim of establishing the type of alliance to be maintained, its duration and impact on the duynamics of the networks operating electronic supply chain management (eSCM).
